Elvin & Wendy Cerna
Pastors
Compassion & Faith Ministry
La Entrada, Copan
Honduran Hearts’ ability to serve effectively is deeply rooted in a trusted in-country partnership that shares our heart, passion, and vision. Under the leadership of Pastors Elvin and Wendy Cerna of Compassion and Faith Ministry, Honduras (COMFEHN), the ministry faithfully serves as that connection.
Raised in the mountains of Honduras and later educated in the city, Elvin and Wendy have never lost sight of the needs within the remote villages they call home. Their lives reflect a deep compassion for people and an unwavering commitment to their faith. Whether traveling by foot, dirt bike, bus, or truck, they carry both essential provisions and the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to communicate with communities beyond reach.
Together with their daughters, Clarissa and Alisson, they model a life devoted to service, instilling in their family a love for their country and a strong missionary spirit.
The church they lead in La Entrada, Copán, embodies this same passion—continuously reaching beyond its walls to serve orphans, widows, and seniors. Their leadership is marked by humility, action, and a genuine desire to see lives transformed through faith and compassion.

Claudia Rauda
Registered Nurse
Campo Alegre, Santa Barbara, San Marcos
A vital part of Honduran Hearts’ work in the villages we serve is access to medical care. Helping to make this possible is Claudia Yesenia Rauda, a registered nurse and valued member of our in-country support team.
Claudia lives in Campo Alegre, San Marcos, where she operates a community clinic serving seven mountain villages. With a deep commitment to those in her care, she travels, however necessary, by foot, vehicle, motorcycle, or bus, to reach people in need. Her passion for health and compassion for others is evident in all she does.
Family is central to Claudia’s life. Inspired by her mother to pursue nursing, she now pours those same values into her children and grandchildren. In the face of tragedy, she has also opened her home to raise her niece and nephews, embracing them fully as her own.
In addition to her medical work, Claudia supports the coordination of our team trips, faithfully serving wherever needed.
