Jose Amilcar Rosa's BIO
Jose was Honduran Hearts' first Student Care participant. He is a 14-year-old boy, currently in the 6th grade, and is thriving! He joined Honduran Hearts in 2019, and it has been a joy to watch his growth and progress. It’s inspiring to see him embrace education and the opportunities it will bring. A hardworking and determined young man, he loves spending his free time playing soccer. This year, he’s set his sights on becoming a soccer player when he grows up—a wonderful dream that reflects his growing sense of possibility and ambition. As the oldest child in his family, he is paving the way for his siblings.
Since Jose and one of his brothers started attending school, their parents’ perspective on education has undergone a remarkable transformation. In the past, the boys were often kept home to work the fields to provide for the family. However, with the encouragement and support of their community in Plancitos, their parents began to see the value of education. Today, the Rosa children rarely miss school, and all but one of their children now have sponsors. Once struggling to focus in class, they are now excelling in all areas—a testament to their hard work and the power of community support.
We are deeply grateful to Cedar Grove for supporting Jose since 2019! Their encouragement and investment have made a world of difference in the life of this child, his family, and their community! Oh what dreams they can aspire to when they are supported!
